John La Puma M.D., F.A.C.P. is founder of Chef Clinic and co-founder of ChefMD, and is a graduating Media and Medicine post graduate student at Harvard Medical School. Dr. La Puma hosted the popular “What’s Cooking with ChefMD?” series and co-hosted the weekly national cable television series “Health Corner” on Lifetime Television for nearly 5 years and 120+ episodes, most recently with Leeza Gibbons and Joan Lunden. He has appeared on Dr. Oz, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The 700 Club, NPR,, Martha Stewart radio, and on NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, ESPN, PBS, LIFETIME and CNN, and in hundreds of print and online publications, podcasts and broadcasts. A New York Times best-selling author twice, his four popular books have sold over a million copies and have been translated into eight languages, and six PBS specials, two of which he wrote and hosted. He is the first physician to teach, (with Cleveland Clinic Emeritus Wellness Chair Michael Roizen, M.D.), a course in culinary medicine in a U.S. Medical School, now taught in 40% of medical schools. He is also the first physician to teach a class in nature therapy at a major U.S. university, at Harvard. He has given TEDx and TEDMED talks, consulted for NBBJ and Cigna, has been called “a secret weapon” by the Wall Street Journal, and received the AMA/National Association of Medical Communicators Award of Excellence.
