Emma Steinberg, MD, Chef is board certified in pediatrics and completed medical school at Johns Hopkins University and pediatrics residency at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the PLUS: Pediatric Leaders Advancing Health Equity Residency Program. She is also a certified chef via The Institute of Culinary Education. She currently is a pediatric hospitalist and teaching attending at Kaiser Permanente Northern California for pediatrics residents and UCSF medical students. At Kaiser Permanente, she also teaches culinary medicine to UCSF medical students, consults for the early intervention pediatric obesity program (YOU Thrive), and helps teach healthy cooking classes to patients and staff. Dr. Steinberg utilizes her training in medicine, healthcare systems, nutrition, and culinary arts in the community as a pediatric culinary medicine strategies consultant for Alameda County’s anti-poverty campaign, ALL IN, and a community advisory board member for San Francisco Unified School District’s Urban Agriculture Career Academy.
